Walking up and/or around Mauao
Mount Maunganui’s dormant volcano, is a must to do activity and then relax in the Thermal salt water pools afterwards or have the obligatory coffee or ice-cream afterwards is always a good idea Great views and a very popular thing to do at no cost. It takes about 40 – 60 minutes to walk around the Mount comfortably.
Enjoy Surfing at our Tay Street man-made Reef, for the keen – you can take some Lessons and hire surf boards from the operators.
Mount Maunganui Beaches
Voted number one in NZ as the best beach for 2015. Choose where you want to swim either in the harbor or ocean which is only a few minutes walking distance from each other. Take a picnic to the beach and watch the Cruise Ships cruise out of the harbor during the season.
Participate in Marathons, 1⁄2 marathons, Triathlons, or run /walk in 5 – 7 – 10 k walks events. Walking distance from our place to the starting and finishing line.

An old Gold Mining Town – it takes about one hour driving from here.
Go black water rafting or just cruise up the river gently. See the amazing Glow Worms in the Caves – It takes about two and a bit hour’s drive from here.
Situated in the Waikato – well know Horse Stud and Dairy farming area. It takes about one and half hour drive away from Mt Maunganui.
One of the World’s best surfing beaches and is situated on the West Coast and only about 3⁄4 hour drive West from Hamilton.￼￼
